Welcome to the PREPARED Year One newsletter!

It's been just over one year since the launch of PREPARED! In only one year we have done so much to reach our mission to improve research ethics and integrity for a future crisis.

Here is just a quick recap of what our team has been working on these last few months...

The G21 is official!

On the 9th of September 2023, the African Union was invited to become a full member of the Group of 20

Kenyan president William Ruto said the move ā€œwill increase the voice of Africa, visibility, and influence on the global stage and provide a platform to advance the common interest of our people.ā€ Official sources call it "a step towards a just, fair, more inclusive and representative global architecture and governance". These are some of the key values our policy brief highlighted in the months running up to the G20 summit in Dehli this year.

View our G20 animation launched at UNESCO in June 2023, explaining why Africa deserves a G21.

Congratulations to all authors of the PREPARED policy brief launched in April 2023. Let's look forward to a G21 with a strong African voice!
